January 2024 - How did that happen?

Hello!

It’s been a while!  When I set up this blog, I had the best of intentions to make it a regular newsletter/blog/update kinda thing, but then life happened, and all my intentions went out of the window!

Things are starting to settle down now (I say this very hesitantly) so I really want to get back on track.  I have so many things I want to tell you about in future blog posts, but for now we’ll keep it simple!

I didn’t get as much time to create throughout the latter part of last time as so much of my time was devoted to my lovely mums hospital appointments etc, but I did manage to work on some goldwork hoops, including my poppy, the majestic lion (his mane took FOREVER) and something very new, which were my Celtic designs.

Another one of my new favourite things to do, are my cut-out trees.  These are so fiddly to do, but incredibly satisfying!  A specific type of fabric is used, and threads are VERY carefully cut and removed to create the cut-out frame, and the body of the trees.  I’m looking forward to creating more of these in different styles, and more elaborate designs.

I’m looking forward to taking part in my first emporium of the year in February.  The Paper Panda & Friends Spring Emporium starts on Friday 9th February, and runs until Monday 12th Feb.  We have lots of lovely sellers joining us, and I have new embroidery hoops, and a large range of new jewellery pieces I have been working on – including some of the most gorgeous baroque pearls I have come across in a long time!  I  may have reserved some of these for myself!

The emporium can be found here

As a thank you for getting this far, and to thank you for your continued support I have set up a special discount code for 20% off absolutely everything in my Etsy shop (which you can find here)  You just need to use the code JANNEWS at checkout – this runs until 5th February.

Well, I think that’s it for now.  Thank you for bearing with me, and please either message me, or reply in the comments to let me know what you think of the newsletter, and what you would like to see me talk about soon.
